Breaking Like Glass, But They're All Asleep, Maybe You Can See Them?

Breaking Like Glass
I stand over the river
I let the bridge shake beneath my feet
I hear the train rumble
I feel it rattle my bones
As it grazes my back with it’s wind
I watch water breaking like glass
And sliding like honey before my eyes
Right back into place
I stand over the river
I Break like glass
I Slide like honey
Right back into place
……
But They’re All Asleep
There are so many people around
But they're all asleep
A spider makes its web
Across an entire alley
We gaze up at the north star
Together, from school and albany
So many people around us
Yet they’re all so sound asleep
The west side of Troy
Is a mirror
Or just a stranger
walking towards me
I have ears
on the ends of my hairs
I keep thunder
in my heartbeat
There are so many people around
And they’re all so sound asleep
……
Maybe You Can See Them?
when the words are lost
i look for them in my eyelids
Or on the ceiling
Or in my periphery
if the poems go missing
i can find them in my gut
Invisible on the exhale
floating atop a melody
maybe you can see them?
i don’t need to know.
we can each have a half
of this secret
